ASUS P7H55D-M EVO Clarksdale Motherboard @ Benchmark Reviews

Intel-land is becoming a very confusing place of late. An Intel Core i7 processor might be Socket 1366, or it might be Socket 1156.

A Core i5 processor might be dual core or quad core; it might have Hyper-Threading or not, or integrated video or other features, and there's no way to tell just from the name. And to make things even more confusing, there are now four consumer-level chipsets for Core i5 processors: the original P55, as well as the new H55, H57, and Q57 chipsets.

The newer chipsets are required if you want to use the integrated video feature of some of the Intel 2010 Core Processor Family CPUs, and ASUS, as always, is ready with new motherboards to support the latest technology.

In this review Benchmark Reviews covers the new ASUS P7H55D-M EVO motherboard, based on the Intel H55 chipset.

Logitech MX-620 Cordless Laser Mouse @ Benchmark Reviews

Since 1981, Logitech has been making a name for themselves in the computer hardware scene. When you think of computer peripherals, you typically think of Logitech.

This veteran company is naturally a top choice when deciding to purchase any type of input device, ranging from keyboards to webcams. As a worldwide leader in pointing devices, it's no surprise Logitech has learned to adapt to the current market and reinvent the mouse each time they release a new product. With the Logitech MX-620 cordless laser mouse, model 910-000240, the company doesn't disappoint.

But how does it compare with the wide variety of mice that are already available? Benchmark Reviews tests the Logitech MX-620 in this article to answer that very question.

CyberPower AVRLCD UPS Battery Backup for PCs @ Benchmark Reviews

It's no secret that our cherished computers and personal electronic devices all depend on electricity. They can't live without power, and we feel powerless without them.

Conscious of our need for continuous productivity, CyberPower Systems has built an entire battery backup product line designed to supply uninterrupted power to our PCs and HDTVs. So when winter storms come or summer brown-outs occur, there's no reason why your small business or home office should stop working. A sudden power-outage shouldn't mean crashing your computer system in the middle of an exciting video game, and an enjoyable movie should not need to restart.

In this article Benchmark Reviews demonstrates how important CyberPower UPS battery-backup devices are for sustained computing as their Intelligent LCD Series CP825AVRLCD, CP1000AVRLCD, and CP1500AVRLCD models are put to test.

ProlimaTech Armageddon CPU Cooler Review @ Benchmark Reviews

The aftermarket heatsink industry is very competitive, and manufacturers often release several product designs before finally scoring a win with enthusiasts and overclockers.

The Megahalems was ProlimaTech's first run at CPU-cooler's, and a very sucessful one at that. Earning our Editor's Choice Award and countless accolades from other websites, ProlimaTech has built high expectations with their follow-up products. The ProlimaTech Armageddon is one such cooling solution with a legacy to fill, and with six heatpipes and enough finsink area for two 140mm fans it seems a reasonable possability.

Benchmark Reviews recently tested the ProlimaTech Armageddon heatsink in our Best CPU Cooler Performance series, on an overclocked Intel Core i7-980X Extreme Edition processor against several other top CPU coolers.

AMD Athlon-II X2-255 AM3 Processor @ Benchmark Reviews

In late January 2010, AMD released a new series of processors that fills in some of the gaps in their Athlon-II and Phenom-II Dual, Triple, and Quad-Core Lines.

Most of the newly released processors are really just 100MHz clock speed bumps on the old versions. We have also seen the addition of some triple and quad core Athlon-II processors.

In this article Benchmark Reviews focuses on the newly released AMD Athlon-II X2-255 AM3 ADX255OCGQBOX processor. Based on the Regor core, the Athlon-II X2-255 has a 3.1GHz clock speed, up 100Mhz from the Athlon-II X2-250 at 3.0GHz which was released last summer.

The Athlon-II X2-255 is at the very low end of the newly released processors and represents a value based market at only $75. Benchmark Reviews is going to use the Athlon-II X2-255, with its support for DDR2 RAM up to 1066MHz as well as DDR3 RAM up to 1333MHz, to show some of the great upgrade options available for consumers who have been waiting for! a low-cost option for a better computer system.

ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO mATX AM3 Motherboard @ Benchmark Reviews

Last year ASUS introduced the 785G chipset, one of their latest chipset with integrated graphics. This comes on the back of other recently successful chipsets with integrated graphics such as the 780G and 790GX. In true AMD fashion, we can tell a lot about the chipset by its numbering.

The 785G is an upgraded version of the 780G and keeps a lot of the same features. Many motherboard manufacturers have been making products with the new chipset and, of course, ASUS is one of the top names. In this article, Benchmark Reviews will be examining the ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO Micro-ATX AM3 Motherboard.

We will be specifically looking at the differences between this board, with the 785G chipset, and the similar 780G and 790GX chipsets. The ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO is being marketed as great combination for the Athlon-II line of processors because of its budget price-point. For this reason, Benchmark Reviews will be testing the ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO against older equ! ipment in order to provide an idea of the upgradeability offered by this motherboard.

Benchmark Performance SSD Testing: AHCI vs IDE @ Benchmark Reviews

Solid State Drive technology is unfamiliar to many consumers, and so long as there are different ways an SSD can operate there always be questions that need answering.

Benchmark Reviews offers various SSD tests, but proving performance speeds and matching manufacturer claims is only part of the story. Each SSD processor has unique behaviors, with some working well with TRIM and offering improved performance in AHCI mode, while others include Garbage Collection (GC) and work best in IDE mode.

In this article Benchmark Reviews demonstrates how SSDs are tested by the manufacturer, and illustrates how real-world performance is different for end-users.
